BLACK LABEL SOCIETY Guitarist: OZZY OSBOURNE 'Is A Smart, Genuine, Talented Man'

June 17, 2007

BLACK LABEL SOCIETY is currently on a European arena tour as the support act for OZZY OSBOURNE. The band is touring on the back of latest release, "Shot to Hell", which was released last September on Roadrunner Records.

BLACK LABEL SOCIETY guitarist Nick Catanese has offered the following update:

"Greetings from Estonia. The crowds are great everywhere but there are some crazy bastards in Russia!!! Both shows killed, in Moscow and St. Petersburg. We are now in Estonia, and this is my first arena tour in 11 years, so I'm pumped up!

"I am totally excited about playing Fields of Rock festival with HEAVEN AND HELL. Who wouldn't be? You are in the midst of legends, ya know?

"It's a mind blower touring with Ozzy. Every show he walks in our dressing room telling jokes and just having a great time. He is the greatest man I know, and so fucking witty and smart. I get so pissed when people say, 'Is he as stupid as he is on the show?' I'm like, 'You stupid fuck — that's a show and they edit what they want. Ozzy is a smart, genuine, talented man. End of story.

"In every way, Zakk [Wylde] has influenced me as a player, performer, gave me so much more confidence and as a person. After 11 years he is my big brother.

"I think [OZZY OSBOURNE's] 'Black Rain' is a great CD. I love it.

"Well, I am finally thinking of doing a LIMITED run of either the 'Shot to Hell' or the Camo [guitars]. For the 'Shot to Hell', they will video me burning it and shooting it, so each one is different. But I'm not sure when yet, maybe Christmas. Check out www.boogiestreet.com.

"In comparison, NASCAR and metal are quite similar in the adrenalin rush onstage, but when those NASCAR guys strap in that car, they lay their lives down every lap. It's way more intense. I give them so much credit. I hear all these macho guys going, 'Yeah I go 135 in my car.' I'm like, 'Yeah, but do you make a left going that fast and hope it doesn't spin out? Plus you don't have 800 horsepower and doing 300 laps with 42 other cars dipshit, wearing a fire suit, gloves, helmet, no air-conditioning, and people say they aren't athletes. I drove the Petty experience. I did 10 laps and almost couldn't walk. My legs were jelly.

"Thank you for the support and again. I hope everyone who read this dug it, for all the glam metal bashers, suck a dick!!!"

BLACK LABEL SOCIETY bassist John "J.D." Deservio has issued the following update:

"Greetings from Estonia. The cities have been amazing! The buildings are so old, there is so much history there. Definitely in Europe metal is thriving. Russia's catching on now too. There's way more festivals in Europe than America, but fans are fans! I have added two new videos on my my space page from overseas.

"I am really enjoying just the architecture of the buildings. I'm in Estonia right now, and we were in buildings from the 1200s.

"Yeah, MAIDEN was my band as a kid, so it'll be awesome to play the same stage with them at the Fields of Rock festival. BLACK SABBATH with Dio sound amazing as well.

"In Russia they don't really know 'Shot To Hell', but they're digging it. We only have 45 minutes. Here is the setlist:

01. New Religion
02. Long Time
03. Sufferin Overdue
04. Bleed For Me
05. Suicide Messiah
06. Fire It Up
07. Black Mass Reverends
08. Concrete Jungle
09. Stillborn

"Ozzy is a beautiful guy.

"It's been amazing.

"Zakk has been my best bro for 23 years now. His passion to be the best has always been inspiring to me."

AS previously reported, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY has announced via a MySpace bulletin that it has parted ways with Roadrunner Records.

"For all of you Berserkers out there, we would like to inform you that we have parted ways with Roadrunner Records," the band writes. "As we always want to keep you informed, we will let you in on the exciting announcement coming in the near future..."

BLACK LABEL SOCIETY's sole release through Roadrunner was last year's "Shot to Hell" album.

"Shot to Hell" sold just under 32,000 copies in the United States during its first week of release last September — less than the 45,000 copies shifted by BLS's "Mafia" (Artemis) back in March 2005 — to land at position No. 21 on The Billboard 200 chart.
